prints are experiencing their shining moment right now, giving me the perfect excuse to go shopping for more, this time with a focus on spring shades and patterns. i purchased this top complete with the trifecta of attributes - peter pan collar, flowered print and sheer mesh back - for only $25 at H&M, as well as a few other printed pieces i can’t wait to wear this week! i’m also on a kick with bigger statement earrings - blame it on karla for always looking epic in huge ones that has me lusting for the same. the ones i’m wearing today are on sale at Forever 21 for $5 right now. xoxo.

i bit of sparkle is an almost requirement for me and my daily dressing. typically it comes from a top or accessory but today, my platinum pants - they practically look like jewelry. anyways, we had a long drive home from upstate yesterday and by time we arrived home and i finished stocking up my wal-mart (a huge cupboard filled with tons and tons of stuff we buy upstate for half what we’d pay in the city) and tested out my new vacuum (i know, i’m crazy) i was super tired and didn’t have the energy to put together something to wear today. that’s why having something that’s pretty spectacular on its own, in this instance, these pants, works out so well. even when you’re not trying that hard, it still gives the effect you are! now you know all my secrets!

i’m so willing to experiment with the clothing i wear every day but am the total opposite when it comes to experimenting with my hair. i’m naturally a really dark blonde/light brown but have colored it practically white for more than a decade. i’ve had a hair crush on lisa mayock (aka one half of design duo behind Vena Cava) for ever, and the fact that she lives in my neighborhood and i’m forced to stare longingly at her tresses so often doesn’t help. anyways, while catching up with my sister this weekend, she convinced me to take the plunge. it was easier than i expected, both to do it and to get used to it. it’s opened me up to an entire new color palette with my makeup and clothes, making me more excited to try new things! xoxo.
