JAIMEN LEE

Wearing: Caramel Cream

wearing: mock turtleneck (borrowed from sister): Rosel, cardigan: H&M, skirt/tights: American Apparel, belt: Forever 21, patent pumps: Zara, two-tone envelope clutch: c/o Eloquii, necklace: Yamak, bracelets: Forever 21, vintage Ralph Lauren, thrifted, from china, c/o Taara, c/o Bauble Bar, c/o Erica Weiner, chipping shellac nails: CND ‘rock royalty,’ makeup: American Beauty shadow in ‘chocolate truffle’ and Sonia Kashuk blush in ‘flamingo.’

my favorite almost-neutral right now is this perfect shade of burnt orange. quite similar to the most-despised crayola of my childhood, ‘burnt sienna’ mixed with a hint of caramel, so i’d like to think my palette tastes have matured a bit since then. i love it with something brighter or like today, with tons of neutrals to make the color stand out a bit more. can’t wait for the shade to transition into more of a tangerine for spring but let’s be real, that’s a while away.

the latter part of last week was spent recovering from a teeny tiny wisdom tooth removal. friday, after some puffiness-combating bronzer trickery, i styled and shot four outfits from the Carrie Parry collection for a lookbook. i fell in love with Parry at last season’s Nolcha Fashion Week and was so excited to add my own sense of style to her collection (so stay tuned!!). speaking of NYFW - work is simply insane this week, leaving me little time for daytime events but i’ll be all over this week’s evening events and giving you my impressions and behind-the-scenes looks. follow me on twitter, foursquare, pinterest and instagram (links on left sidebar) for timely looks! xoxo.

Wearing: Layered Stripes

wearing: dress: Steven Alan for Uniqlo, men’s button-up: Ralph Lauren, navy tights: American Apparel, two-tone pumps: Zara, necklaces: Forever 21 and vintage, bracelets: Forever 21 and pearls from china, shellac nails: CND in ‘rock royalty,’ makeup: Tricia Sawyer ‘eye slept’ and Korres mineral powder in ‘wild rose.’

i was super inspired by atlantic-pacific’s recent post wearing two dresses layered over one another. and while i don’t own two dresses with such similar length, i do have a husband who’s long button-ups are just slightly shorter than my dresses - perfect! with their color contrasts and thin strips, the two coordinate nicely. i grabbed just about every glamorous bauble i own and stacked them over one another - i love a dramatically-full neck!

heading out in just a bit to the oral surgeon to remove my final wisdom tooth. excited that its one less tooth to worry about (kidding. well not really, but that sounds gross) but not looking forward to days off and swollen. i’ll be recovering for the rest of the week, so unless by some miracle, also absent from posting puffy-faced pictures. have a great rest of your week and if you have any suggestions for Netflix streaming series i can overdose on, send them my way, i can definitley use some distractions!

Wearing: Prepped in Leather

wearing: gingham button-up: H&M, two-tone blazer: Forever 21, jeans: Forever 21, patent pumps: Zara, clutch: c/o Lucky Magazine, earrings/bracelets: c/o Bauble Bar, c/o Ann Taylor, c/o Erica Weiner, Forever 21, H&M, vintage/thrifted, shellac nails: CND in ‘rock royalty,’ makeup: Chanel ‘matte blaze’ lipstick, Clinique blush in ‘precious posey.’

a plain plaid button-up and everyday jeans look entirely redefined and refined with the addition of patent pumps strapped across said jeans and this two-tone blazer. i thought the felt and faux-leather jacket would be more of a statement piece when i purchased it given the juxtaposed tone and texture, but have been pleasantly surprised at it’s blend-ability with nearly my entire wardrobe!

so you guys, i finalllllly took a huge haul of ill-fitting clothing to the tailors on friday; we’re talking five pants, two shirts, two skirts and two dresses that will soon fit like a glove. luckily, there’s a great spot, Sew Good in williamsburg, with tailors i trust, who will have the job done later this week and all for $150!! just like last week - this is another short one. i’ll be taking a few days off to get my final wisdom tooth removed and recover (tmi?). i can’t believe how painfully long i’ve prolonged this process, you’d think i love it or something.

light at the end of the tunnel? Carrie Parry will be sending me their full collection to style for a special lookbook feature which puffiness-pending, i’ll shoot this friday! stay tuned. xoxo.
