i think this may be my favorite outfit of late. something about the pattern mixing and effortless flow of the fabrics just feels so cool. i purchased these pants over the weekend for under $20 at Forever 21 and would totally encourage everyone to buy a pair. the print is an updated more neutral-looking leopard that has me excited to match them with every patterned top i own this spring. definitely more versatile than i initially thought. plus, the fit is actually amazing - surprising as i’ve tried on tons of these pyjama-meets-flares and they’ve looked terrible. anyways, i’m really impressed with the pants!

this outfit is so comfortable i can’t even explain. alone, some drawstring jeans and clogs are a bit motherly, but i love how the structure of this knitted capelet and some bright lips instantly make the whole thing more young looking. i’ve had these H&M jeans for a couple years and while the spandex ankles and drawstring waist do make them less versatile than a normal pair, i also love the bit of flair they add to what would otherwise be just plan jeans.

wearing: dress (work as top)/skirt/belt: Forever 21, tights: American Apparel, patent pumps: Zara, farrah rocker bag: c/o Elly Clay, braided gunmetal necklace: c/o Eloquii, necklace: c/o Brian Burkhardt for Kenneth Cole, watch: Forever 21, ring: christmas gift (unknown brand), sunglasses: Ray Ban, nails: RGB in ‘doll,’ makeup: Urban Decay shadow in ‘roach’ and NYX pin-up tease mascara.
there’s actually a really pretty flower patterned skirt portion of this dress attached to the striped top but i love how it can also function alone with a separate skirt layered over. i love finding ways to extend the wearing possibilities with long and short dresses; its like discovering clothes you never knew you had!
i’m hosting a fun mixology event for my client nokia tonight with press at a j bird lounge on the west side and needed to look a bit more profesh than usual. i hate seeing women wear these terrible suits and such when hosting events. it seems so uncomfortable when already in a bit of an odd scenario, trying ti impress clients and media, so why add to it with clothing? i’m all for upping my working woman game while injecting my personal style in for events like these. should be fun! xoxo.
