Want to Wear: The Odd Slipper

last week after attending the Amsale event, the awesome/hilarious jessica chu and i headed down to The Little Shoe Store for the launch of The Odd Slipper, a new line of trend- and classically-styled shoes made for ladies with the tiniest of feet. in fact, they make everything from ballet flats to sky-high heels in sizes as small as 3! of course, the prettiest tiny feet present were those of ms. sara zucker, who was a featured host and donned the ‘gina,’ pictured next to her above.

my favorites, seen side by side above were the ‘anna’ and the ‘keri;’ both incredibly classic but also very comfortable.

beyond stunning shoes that solve a problem many petite ladies face, the company has an incredibly smart and modern way in which they bring their shoe offerings to market - through crowdsourcing. each week, The Odd Slipper presents new designs for ladies to vote and comment on. that input directly decides which shoes will be produced and shortly after they become available for purchase. in a area of the market in which ladies are most discerning, allowing their input before business and product decisions are made seems almost obvious but has never been done with shoes before. hats off and let’s hope others follow! xoxo.

Wearing: Caribe Sense

wearing: blouse: Rory Beca for Forever 21, leather accordian skirt: H&M, tights: American Apparel, patent pumps: Zara, lindsey link clutch: c/o Elly Clay, chunky braided statement necklace: c/o Eloquii, lucite cuff: c/o Lucky Magazine, gun metal studded bracelet and earrings: Forever 21, sunglasses: Ray Ban, shellac nails: CND in ‘tropix.’

it all started with a pair of leather leggings and i was hooked with the way the color and texture of leather easily adds a bit of toughness, even when paired with more feminine things. next was a black mini skirt and then a black leather dress. after having the basic shapes down and with an H&M giftcard from christmas burning a hole in my pocket, i eyed and immediately fell in love with this pleated skirt over the weekend. like my leather dress, i find that H&M consistently carries a really nice variety of leather bottoms and they’re now my go-to resource when i’m in the market. it’s shorter than is probably appropriate, but with thick tights looks less so. tiny gunmetal buttons on the front and armcuff buttons of this bright carribean-esque blouse are the perfect coordinating detail!

headed to two things tonight - first, an event with Amsale and while known for their stunning bridal pieces, i’m taken, so more interested in their ‘little white dress’ collection and really want to find out if the age-old rule against guests wearing white to a wedding still applies. cause if not, i want to wear the ‘lucy’ this summer! afterwards, heading to The Odd Slipper event put on by the lovelies over at small girls pr and honoring the precious (little) feet of my good friend sara among others. stay tuned on twitter/instagram for live pics and thoughts and a post in the coming days! xoxo.
